Packed with playful and energising activities, our courses are a great opportunity to learn more about Commedia dell'Arte, both theory and practice. We are particularly interested in exploring the legacy of Commedia dell'Arte in contemporary theatre and its relevance in the 21st century.

COURSE CONTENT:
● Theory:
Historical contextualisation: birth and development of Commedia dell'Arte since the 16th century till today.
● Practice:
Warm-Up: A series of playful warming-up exercises to ‘awaken’ our body and our senses.
Masks: An exploration of physical approaches to characterisation utilising the codified language of Commedia dell’Arte: Masks' driving forces, postures, gestures, walks and voices.
Techniques: Techniques studied will comprise body awareness, physical and vocal transformation, improvisation and audience interaction.
Creative Exploration: Development of your canovacci.
